
In 1997, the company created a partnership with CIE (Coorporación Interamericana de Entretenimiento, S.A. de C.V.) and became Grupo Mágico Internacional, currently leading amusement park operator in Latin America and the world’s ninth largest, according to IAAPA ratings. In 2004, Grupo Mágico Internacional was renamed CIE Amusement Parks.
The concept was developed in Mexico City and resulted in a highly successful child’s role-playing Entertainment Park named “Kids City.” The concept was a huge success and doubled the attendance expectations since the first year. In 2002 the company decided to pursue the dream in the United States and chose South Florida to become the first location. Wannado City® opened its doors in 2004 and since then the concept has become the leading news in the theme park industry and has been awarded as “The Best Themed Concept in the World” by the THEA (Theme Entertainment Association).
